Lake Wylie's own Carolina Show Ski Team travels to Lake Norman to compete in this bone chilling competition. Come and watch! 1/6 Thursday - Allison Creek Bluegrass, first and third Thursday of each month, corner of Hands Mill Road and Allison Creek Road. Different bands are featured each night, along with open jam sessions. Food is available beginning 6:30pm. 1/12 Thursday 8pm - Clover School District Auditorium Performing Arts Series features The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, one of the most beloved "big bands" of all time. 1/14 Saturday 9pm - The Sylvia Theater in York presents "Al and Amy", an award-winning acoustic guitar duo . 1/14 Saturday - 10am -4pm, "Hog Butchering Day". Historic Brattonsville: witness the process of butchering meat and learn how the early settlers preserved and smoked it. The whole family will love this one! 1/20 -3/18 - Fifth annual "Orchid Spectacular" will open with the Piedmont Orchid Society's annual show on January 20. It will continue thru mid-March with classes, displays, and sale at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Mark your calendars! 1/21 Saturday 7pm - The Steep Canyon Rangers, an acoustic quintet from Asheville, perform bluegrass at the McCelvey Center in York.
