The oldest and largest of the Lake Wylie communities, River Hills is located on the South Carolina side of the Lake. This gated community has over one thousand homes and condominiums. River Hills Plantation boasts an 18-hole golf course and country club, tennis center, waterfront parks, beach, private security force, and volunteer emergency squad. River Hills is part of the Clover school district.

Most homes in the community were built in the 1970's and early 80's.  Homes currently sell for the mid $200's to over a million, depending on location (waterfront, golf course, or interior), size, and condition.  Condo's and townhouses generally sell for $175k-$275k. 

The community is diverse, with families and empty-nesters.  Many clubs and activities are available.  River Hills has a community association and website: River Hills Plantation.

The marina provides boat slips as well as kayak storage.
